Chronology of cameras Alsaphot
Ajax is the name of a series of Alsaphot cameras in the 6 x 6 format, using 120 film.
The construction is entirely metal. The lens/shutter unit is mounted on a retractable tube. The shutter release is located on the top cover, which incorporates a non-contact shoe. Film advancement is done using a wheel. The viewfinder is very simple.
The back and base are connected, and a lock located under the base keeps them in place. There is a sync socket on the shutter, regardless of the model.
Depending on the model, there is either a black covering or the body is coated with a frosted gray paint.
The model didn't change much over its lifespan, but there were variations in lenses and shutters, either simultaneous or successive. Establishing a precise chronology can be complicated.

The Ajax III, according to the catalogs, is a model that comes after the original Ajax. It features an Alsar 3.5/75 mm lens on a shutter capable of speeds up to 1/300, including slow speeds (1 to 1/300). It is possible that this shutter is of Gitzo origin.
In this particular specimen, the release catch is located on the back, below the flap that closes the red frame counter window.
